3rd edition Summer School Deformations in Robotics

du 29 juin au 3 juillet 2026

The use of deformations in robotics is one of the most active fields of application and research. To train the next generation of researchers and engineers, Inria, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and the University of Lille are joining forces to organize a summer school. During on week, participants will attend lectures, keynotes and pratical sessions on the fundamental concepts necessary for the use of deformable materials in soft robotics, continuous robotics, hybrid rigid/deformable robotics as well as in rigid robotics interacting with a deformable environment. Additionally, with the participation of the PEPR-O2R project, intersections between robotics and social sciences, humanities and arts will be explored.

Main topics:

  • Overviews of the domain
  • Design and Fabrication
  • Bio-inspiration
  • Hands-on sessions
  • Modeling
  • Sensing
  • Control
  • Applications

The details about the planning, the registration modalities and the speakers can be found on the summer school website.
