The COMET project (Conceptions and Uses of Metaversic Universes) is one of six targeted projects under the national Cultural and Creative Industries research programme (PEPR ICCARE). Metaverses allow users to connect, interact and create collectively in immersive virtual environments that transcend the limitations of physical space. But how can we ensure the safety of these artificial systems or assess their impact on people, the environment and society? The COMET research project focuses on the design and use of metaversive universes and aims to promote scientific and technological advances in this field. The project launch day will take place on 17 January at the Plaine Images site in Tourcoing, in the presence of numerous players from the cultural and creative industries, culminating in a concert broadcast live into the metaverse.
