Statistics are present in a large number of scientific fields, often with the need to calculate integrals. But if conceptually it’s as simple as calculating a volume, the practical calculation is much more complicated, with potentially millions of hypotheses to test one after the other… To respond to these problems in a reasonable time, Rémi Bardenet wants to integrate a new tool, stochastic repulsive processes. Coming from statistical physics and probabilities, these tools are recently entering artificial intelligence. These processes make it possible to better mesh the areas whose volume must be determined, and thus to launch fewer calculations.
