To carry out certain operations, surgeons already have robotic tools at their disposal. But in the future, the implants themselves could be mobile, and controlled in such a way as to faciliate their insertion. The Robocop project, coordinated by Inria’s Defrost project team, is a first step in the direction: it has led to the development of the frirt prototype of a robotic cochlear implant.
