You are invited to the launch of the University of Lille’s Maison de la Simulation
Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2pm at Polytech Lille - Cité Scientifique - Villeneuve d’ascq
With the deployment of hardware infrastructures for supercomputing at both national and European level, researchers now have access to a world-class supercomputer park, making it possible to envisage major breakthroughs in many scientific fields, and ensuring significant spin-offs in terms of industrial competitiveness. The challenges raised by the use of these infrastructures require multi-disciplinary skills including computer scientists, mathematicians and experts in the targeted application fields.
The Université de Lille, Sciences et Technologies is home to a computing mesocenter within its computing resources center, which in recent years has fostered the emergence of a number of upstream and downstream computing-related themes in various scientific fields.
Today, it is creating a “Maison de la Simulation” in Lille, with the aim of promoting multi-disciplinary research into digital simulation, scientific computing and high-performance computing, strengthening the synergy between fundamental developments and thematic applications, supporting the scientific community and giving it greater visibility.
