As part of her visit to the Algomus project, Zviane is giving a talk open to all about her new comic strip, “Ping Pong”.
In it, she retraces her career as a musician and cartoonist, and reflects ont the links between the two arts. ‘I’ve been playing the piano since I was 7, and drawing since I could hold a pencil. My meandering school career between drawing and music was tinged with failure. Ironically, it was music and comics that consoled me. In the course of mt work, I realised something: it doesn’t matter whether I’m doing comics or music, I feel like I’m doing the same thing. So I started thinking: what do these two arts have in common ? Two subjective answers emerged: on the ane hand, the organisation of time, and on the other, an impulse towards the other.
