Jobim is a yearly scientific event of the French-speaking bioinformatics community, organized by the SFBI (Société Francaise de Bio-Informatique).

Jobim was first held in Montpellier in 2000. After Toulouse, Saint-Malo, Paris, Montréal, Lyon, Bordeaux, and Marseille, the 2008 edition of Jobim will be held in Lille on June 30 - July 2. The conference will take place in the Lille Grand Palais Conference Centre.

Topics

Jobim covers the whole spectrum of bioinformatics, from methodological aspects (modeling using mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics) to applications leading to new results in biology. We encourage submissions in areas including, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • genomics, comparative genomics, metagenomics
  • biological networks
  • modelling of dynamical systems, systems biology
  • sequence analysis, pattern matching
  • molecular structures
  • proteomics and interactions
  • non-coding RNAs
  • evolution, phylogeny
  • gene expression
  • haplotypes, SNP polymorphisms
  • ontologies, databases, data integration
  • algorithms and statistics applied to bioinformatics
