Empirical software engineering is an active research field to which many European institutions and researchers are contributing, in top-tier conferences and journals. The goal of EOSESE’2015, the European Open Symposium in Empirical Software Engineering is to help structure the community. By getting to know each other’s work, it will be easier to identify potential collaborations and future joint-projects.

EOSESE’2015 is meant to be open, to gather people and foster collaborations. The format of the symposium is as follows. European Open Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering
EOSESE 2015, Lille, France, December 3-4 2015. Free registration.

Following the success of EOSESE 2014 we are pleased to announce the Second European Open Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering (EOSESE 2015), to be held in Lille on December 3-4, 2015. This year EOSESE will be collocated with the 14th edition of the BElgian-NEtherlands software eVOLution seminar (BENEVOL 2015) and Rétro-Ingénierie, Maintenance et Evolution des Logiciels (RIMEL 2015). The joint event is called EvoLille.

The goal of EOSESE 2015 is to help structure the European empirical software engineering community. EOSESE 2015 is meant to be open, to gather people and to foster collaborations.

To facilitate the exchange of ideas and further dissemination of the results within the European Empirical Software Engineering community, we encourage talks on work already published in authoritative conferences and journals. To facilitate new collaborations between researchers working on similar topics, we will also have special birds of feather sessions. Should you be interested in having such a session, please send an e-mail to the general chair (Martin Monperrus ‎[martin.monperrus@univ-lille1.fr]‎‎) indicating the topic, coordinator, number of participants and whether you prefer the session to be publicly announced or not.

There will be no formal proceedings.

The submission deadline for talk proposals is November 6, via easychair:

The talk proposal should be limited to one page. LaTex users, please use the LaTeX class file IEEEtran v1.8 available here and the following configuration (without option ‘compsoc’ or ‘compsocconf’): \documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran} Word users, please use the template available at conference-publishing.com.

Registration is free, but registration is required. You can register at http://evolille2015.eventzilla.net/.

Please forward this announcement to anyone who may be interested.

EOSESE’2015 will be held at Inria Lille. Lille is a very central European city, 45 minutes away from Charles de Gaulle airport, 1:20 away from London by train and only 30 minutes away from Brussels (not enough time for your next review!).

EOSESE is the perfect opportunity to visit Lille, a wonderful city with a rich history and a top cultural offering.

Venue: EOSESE will take place at the University of Lille in Villeneuve d’Ascq (metro: “Campus Scientifique”).
