The second half of the book consists of an example system, worked through in C++ (using IONA's Orbix, HP ORB Plus, Sun's NEO and Expersoft's Powerbroker), C (using Digital's Objectbroker, IBM DSOM and ICL's DAIS) and Smalltalk (using HP Distributed Smalltalk).
I believe there will also be implementation code and documentation available for the example in other ORBs and language mappings of ORBs, via links from a page on the OMG web site.
The first half of the book is concerned with explaining what is CORBA, the language mappings, the CORBAservices, etc.
